China Environment News was created on social media in October 2019, followed by the creation of our website in May 2021. We see our role as contributing to providing rational and more balanced news and analysis about the actions China is taking to protect the environment, both domestically and globally. Too often these are ignored or distorted by the widespread anti-China bias of much of the Western media.
It is not possible to understand China’s environmental policies and programs without understanding “socialism with Chinese characteristics”, and China’s focus on building an ecological civilisation.
